Summer is halfway over, but the thick of festival season is about to be in full swing as August comes. Set between August 5-7, San Francisco’s Outside Lands is the world’s only gourmet music festival held in the Bay Area’s historic Golden Gate Park.
The three day festival caters to the indie aesthetic packed with music, food and comedy. Unlike most summer festivals, Outside Lands offers attendees endless grass hills and thick trees providing shade for people to dance, lay and enjoy, instead of the usual desert climate festival veterans have become accustom to.
Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly and Starr Hill teamed up once again to put on Outside Lands 2016 comedy and improv line-up for the festival’s renowned Barbary tent, named after San Francisco’s Barbary Coast. The Barbary tent features the top names in comedy, storytelling, music, improv, and general weirdness. The Barbary’s turn-of-the-century Belgian decor – inspired by the world famous Spiegeltent Victoria – provides a perfect setting for a remarkable line-up of old school (but forward-thinking) variety entertainment.
This year’s musical headliner’s include Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Lionel Richie, Lana del Ray, J. Cole, Zedd and Major Lazer. Amongst, Chance the Rapper, Beach House, Miguel, Halsey, Big Grams (Big Boi + Phantogram), Grimes, Miike Snow and many more playing at this year’s festival!
As if that isn’t motivation enough to go, here to motivate you even more is Outside Lands announcement video with The Muppets’ Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem:
