PRO Rugby Lands in Sacramento

A true ruffian’s delight, PRO Rugby has arrived in Sacramento.

The results last Sunday weren’t exactly pretty for the home team — Sacramento dropped a spirited match to Ohio 31-11 at Bonney Field — but the locals showed the spit, vigor and athleticism that makes the sport so popular across the world.

The loss puts Sacramento at 1-2 in the five-team Professional Rugby Organization, which is in its inaugural season.

If you missed Sunday’s match, another one is on the bill at Bonney Field this week, on Sunday, at 3 p.m. against Denver, which is undefeated with a 3-0 record. Purchase tickets at prorugby.org.
