Temple Coffee, known for receiving national attention and creating one of the biggest coffee businesses in Sacramento, is opening their fifth location in Midtown this weekend.
The highly rated Sacramento-based coffee roastery’s newest location will open at 22nd and K, adding itself among four other shops in the Sacramento area—Downtown, Arden Arcade, Midtown on S St, and Davis, which opened last fall.
This Midtown location will differ from the other Temple locations in that there will be a dessert bar pairing with coffee. The dessert menu offers treats varying from molten chocolate to champagne raspberry cake along with recommended coffee and tea pairings for the desserts.
Temple claims that this is their biggest, most adventurous location to date due to the restoration of a space built in the 1920s. The shop boasts a simple, clean aesthetic that showcases a special floor–covered in pennies. Transportation is a theme in the shop, as bikes, a skateboard and a motorcycle all act as decoration.
Founder Sean Kohmescher refers to his design of the shop to be “somewhat symbolic, an autobiography to his life.” He describes the aesthetic of the shop as “rustic and modern”, resembling his childhood in Oklahoma.
He also wanted to do something special for Temple’s 10 year anniversary. Kohmescher said that “[their locations] had always been on the outside of downtown” so it is new to the company that they are now in the heart of Midtown.
The shop, located at 2200 K St., will have its grand opening at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 26. For more information, templecoffee.com.
