One Year in the Making: Kings Golden 1 Center Time Lapse Video

One year ago today, Sacramento broke ground on the city’s future entertainment and sporting center and future home to the Sacramento Kings. Keeping track of the Golden 1 Center‘s progress since August 2014, EarthCam has ready for viewing a time lapse of the first year of the center’s construction.

This comes the day after the Sacramento Kings’ season opener to a sold-out crowd in the soon-to-be old arena. The game was their last season opener in the Sleep Train Arena, since the Golden 1 Center is scheduled to be completed in time for the King’s 2016-17 season in October 2016.

To mark the one year anniversary of the groundbreaking ceremony, the Sacramento Kings released this time lapse video. After construction is complete, EarthCam plans to release a comprehensive time lapse movie that encapsulates the entire process from demolition to opening day.

Until then, here’s our arena in progress.
